Rawalpindi : Another death due to coronavirus illness, COVID-19 in the last 24 hours from Rawalpindi district took death toll from the district to 1,000 on Saturday though no death was reported due to COVID-19 from Islamabad Capital Territory where a total of 782 patients had already lost their lives due to the illness.
In the last 24 hours, as many as 174 new patients have been reported positive from the twin cities taking the tally to 108696. The positivity rate of COVID-19 from the twin cities has been recording a continuous upward trend for the last one-and-a-half weeks while in the last 24 hours, the positivity ratio from Rawalpindi district has turned out to be 4.46 per cent.
Data collected by ‘The News’ reveals that another 61 patients have been tested positive for COVID-19 from Rawalpindi district in the last 24 hours taking the tally to 25,183 of which 23,817 patients have recovered. The number of active cases of the disease from Rawalpindi district has jumped to 366 after the addition of 42 active cases on Saturday.
According to the District Health Office Rawalpindi, as many as 25 confirmed patients belonging to Rawalpindi were undergoing treatment at different healthcare facilities in town while some 341 patients were in home isolation on Saturday.
Meanwhile, as many as 113 new patients have been tested positive for the disease from the federal capital taking the tally to 83,513 of which 81,247 confirmed patients have recovered. The number of active cases of COVID-19 in the federal capital jumped to 1484 on Saturday after the addition of 76 active cases in the last 24 hours.
