Islamabad : Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training Shafqat Mahmood on Wednesday announced his recovery from the novel coronavirus.
“By the grace of Allah, I have fully recovered (from COVID-19). My latest two tests are negative,” he wrote on his official Twitter account.
On May 25, the education minister had formally disclosed that he was diagnosed with coronavirus, a week after getting the first jab of the COVID-19 vaccine.
In the Wednesday tweet, he also said after testing negative for coronavirus, he was going back to work.
He said the mild symptoms and quick recovery were without a doubt because of the COVID-19 vaccination. “Clearly vaccines work and are the best defence against this horrible disease,” he said.
Like minister Shafqat, President Dr Arif Alvi, Prime Minister Imran Khan, Defence Minister Pervez Khattak, and many other government and state representatives were also infected with the virus but they all recovered from it afterward.
